Rancho Brand Introduces RS5000X Shock Series For Lifted Trucks And SUVs

RanchoThe Rancho brand has released a new larger RS5000X shock series that helps deliver precisely controlled off-road performance to lifted trucks and sport utility vehicles found around the globe. The new RS5000X shock series includes Cross-Tuned Technology, a new valve design that allows for increased control and consistent ride profile with a larger shock body.

“The Rancho RS5000X series gives vehicles found in North America – and around the world – another great choice for a performance shock,” said Chris Gauss, director, performance brands, Tenneco. “By introducing a patented valve technology, enlarging the shock body and adding other key features that enhance the original design, enthusiasts will see more consistent performance and extended capabilities in a wide variety of environments and regions.”

The new Rancho RS5000X shock series has a large, 2.25-inch diameter reserve tube that delivers greater oil capacity and can enhance overall performance, the company says. The larger body diameter allows the RS5000X shock to run cooler and more consistent in more extreme conditions and varying vehicle speeds while extending shock durability.

Each new RS5000X shock also includes a solid, 16mm nitro-carb rod to offer strength and durability during off-road driving. The RS5000X shock is gas pressurized to add a mild boost of spring rate to potentially minimize foaming and shock fade. The series also features a glass-filled fluon banded piston that provides smoother piston travel and greater responsiveness when road conditions vary, the company adds.

Each RS5000X shock is finished in classic Rancho bright white paint with a full-color Rancho RS5000X decal and each shock includes a protective Rancho red boot.

The Rancho brand first launched the original RS5000 shock series in 1985 and it has grown to be one of the best-selling, high-performance shock absorbers in the world. A leader in performance suspension systems and shock absorbers, Rancho performance suspension and shocks are manufactured and marketed by Tenneco.

All Rancho RS5000X shocks carry a Limited Lifetime Warranty in North America. Visit www.GoRancho.com for additional details and restrictions.

When a brake pad is manufactured, one of the last steps involved is to print a series of letters and numbers on the edge of the friction material. This code has been on brake shoes and pads for more than 60 years, but what does it mean?

The “Edge Code” can tell you information about a brake pad’s friction material. These letters and numbers can help you to select the correct brake pads or shoes for a vehicle. But, the edge code can do only so much.
