R-M Named Official Automotive Refinish Paint Of Richard Petty Motorsports

RMR-M Automotive Finishes, a brand of BASF, has announced its position as the official automotive refinish product of Richard Petty Motorsports.

R-M products will be used in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series on the No. 43 car driven by Aric Almirola and the No. 9 car driven by Sam Hornish Jr. R-M will also be used to paint the NASCAR Nationwide Series No. 43 XFINITY car driven by Dakoda Armstrong.

In addition, R-M Onyx HD – a low volatile organic compound (VOC), fast-drying basecoat system – will continue to be the automotive finish for all custom cars prepared at Petty’s Garage.

“Our relationship with the Petty brand is an extension of our belief in delivering top performance and quality,” said Mike Freeman, R-M market segment manager for BASF. “The Petty brand, including Richard Petty Motorsports and Petty’s Garage, execute at the highest levels in their respective categories. It’s only natural for us to partner to ensure all their automotive finish needs are met to the highest standards.”

Richard Petty Motorsports recently moved into a new race shop that houses two paint booths, while Petty’s Garage has an additional two booths. The need for a superior automotive finish at both locations is always an extremely high priority, according to Petty.

“We are very detailed in all the work we do to our race cars and our customer cars,” said Richard Petty, co-owner of Richard Petty Motorsports and owner of Petty’s Garage. “R-M is the brand we trust to deliver the best colors when they leave our race shop. They have proven to have the best products and really help define our cars on the track and for our customers off the track.”
