Perspectives: Are You ASE Certified?

We congratulate the top scorers on the ASE certification tests for their understanding of the need to promote professionalism in our industry and their daily commitment to highest-quality repairs.

On the surface, that’s a simple yes or no question. But, it’s actually a bit of a loaded question.

Earning ASE certification involves answering correctly enough questions to get a passing score, and this is certainly not a simple task.

To be one of the 40 technicians honored at the Fall board meeting of the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) held at the Marriott City Center in Charlotte, NC, it goes beyond being a top scorer on the ASE certification tests.

It’s also about delivering service excellence on each and every repair, and getting involved in community service to build customer loyalty and trust.

The staff of Underhood Service congratulates the winners, as well as the award sponsors, for their understanding of the need to promote professionalism in our industry and their daily commitment to highest-quality repairs.

Here are some of the wackiest rules you might not have heard about in Driver’s Ed.

As I was driving home from work the other day, I noticed numerous vehicles pulled over by Highway Patrolmen. I thought the amount of traffic stops seemed much higher than normal, when it dawned on me – Ohio’s new Distracted Driving Law went into effect on April 4.

For the next six months, officers will pull drivers over and issue warnings about using their phones while driving. In October, you will actually get a ticket for texting and talking while driving.
