Parts Plus Teams with NASCAR Angels TV Show to Help Motorists

Sanel Auto Parts, a Parts Plus Autostore owned by Automotive Supply Associates (ASA) in Concord, NH, recently teamed with the NASCAR Angels TV program to help provide safe, reliable transportation for deserving motorists, according to Mike Lambert, president of the Automotive Distribution Network.

“ASA and Sanel Auto Parts went above and beyond to locate the necessary parts, generously providing their time and resources for a great cause,” Lambert said.

ASA’s company-owned Parts Plus store pitched in for two episodes. The first, which airs this weekend in most markets, features Dana Williams, a football player who inspired others over his high-school career playing with a prosthetic leg. ASA and the staff at Sanel Auto Parts helped supply parts for Williams’ 1993 Buick Regal, which had more than 160,000 miles on it. ASA donated such parts as Monroe shocks and struts, a NASCAR Exide battery, Goodyear Eagle tires and NASCAR alloy wheels to help Williams get back on the road and continue his education in Massachusetts.

The second episode, which airs the following weekend, tells the story of Chris Ayer’s family. Ayer’s wife, Ellen, suffers from muscular dystrophy and relies on a scooter to get around, while their 17-year-old daughter, Danni, has Rett syndrome, which has left her confined to a wheelchair. With more than 212,000 miles logged on their 1991 Astro, the van was becoming a hazard. Sanel Auto Parts stepped up to find the needed parts for a replacement vehicle: a 1999 Dodge B1500 Ram van equipped with a raised roof and doors, wheelchair lift and locking device, TV and DVD player.

Hosted by former NASCAR champion Rusty Wallace and Shannon Wiseman, a NASCAR.com reporter, NASCAR Angels hits the road each week, teaming with local shops and auto stores to help struggling motorists. The show airs in most major markets, usually on weekend afternoons.

The Network is one of the largest program groups in the automotive aftermarket, consisting of 47 members, 248 WD locations and $2.5-billion-plus in annual sales throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada and Australia.
