From Tire Review
The NHTSA has recalled 1,492 Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. Wild Country Radial XTX Sport 265/65R18 tires. The affected tires, manufactured June 1 to June 28, may experience cracking and broken ply cords in the lower sidewall on the intended outboard side above the rim.
If the tire experiences cracking or broken ply cords, this will increase the risk of a tire blowout and the risk of a vehicle crash, reports the NHTSA.
Cooper will notify owners of the recall, which began in August. According to the NHTSA recall, dealers will inspect and test the suspected tires, and replace the ones that need to be replaced, free of charge. Owners may contact Cooper customer service at 1-800-854-6288.
