New Rancho 2015 Suspension Systems For Ford F-150 Pass Federal Rollover Safety Test

ranchoThe latest Rancho lift kits for Ford F-150 models have recently passed the U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 126 – Electronic Stability Control Systems (FMVSS-126) test – and include a newly engineered one-piece, reinforced subframe composition and design for superior fit and finish.

“These systems are a great example of the exacting detail of our engineering process, one that we’ve continuously refined over the last 60 years,” said Chris Gauss, director of performance products. “This precise product development process has allowed us to enjoy a long-standing reputation as a leader in the off-road performance industry.”

The Rancho systems were tested at the Arizona Proving Grounds, Wittmann, Ariz. The tests were completed by Link Engineering Company, Dearborn, Mich.

The tests were completed on a Ford F-150 outfitted with a 6-in. Rancho suspension kit (RS66501B) and Rancho RS5000X rear shocks (RS55287) and a Ford F-150 sporting a 4.5-in. Rancho suspension kit (RS66500B), Rancho RS5000X front struts and RS5000X rear shocks.

The trucks also included BFGoodrich Tires All-Terrain T/AKO2 35×12.50R18LT tires and 18-in. Vision Manx wheels finished in gloss black. Both Rancho Ford F-150 systems easily accommodate 35-in. tires and will not impact the Ford AdvanceTrac with RSC electronic stability control systems.

The new subframe is constructed from high-strength, low-alloy steel and was engineered for high off-road performance. CNC-machined, durable extended-length steering knuckles that maintain track width and ensure proper steering geometry are included in each kit. The 6-in. Rancho system also includes rear aft braces.

Included in the systems are CNC-machined, durable extended-length steering knuckles that maintain track width and ensure proper steering geometry.

Rancho RS5000X shocks and struts help deliver precisely controlled off-road performance to lifted trucks, and include Cross-Tuned Technology, a new, unique valve design that allows for increased control and consistent ride profile with a larger shock body.
