New from the Car Care Council: Community Car Care Events Promoted on Facebook

The Car Care Council will be posting 2010 National Car Care Month community car care events to its Facebook page when businesses and organizations register their events on the "Find an Event" locator on the council's website.

The Car Care Council will be posting 2010 National Car Care Month community car care events to its Facebook page when businesses and organizations register their events on the “Find an Event” locator on the council’s website at www.carcare.org/host-an-event/CCM-form.

“With the growing popularity of Facebook and the success that the Car Care Council has had with promoting community car care events on its website, the next step in reaching an even larger audience during National Car Care Month was to further utilize our Facebook page,” said Rich White, executive director, Car Care Council.

Each year, during National Car Care Month, hundreds of community car care events are conducted nationwide by independent repair shops and auto parts stores, as well as vocational schools and other aftermarket organizations.

“Consumers are conscious of every penny they spend these days, recognizing that maintaining their vehicle is a more efficient alternative than purchasing a new one,” White said. “Car care events during National Car Care Month in April are the perfect time to show motorists just how much they can save in the long run through proper vehicle maintenance.”

To help organizations conduct community car care events, the council offers a National Car Care Month Tool Kit for aftermarket companies and organizations to find everything they need to participate or get involved with National Car Care Month in April. The tool kit can be found by visiting www.carcareindustry.com.

The Car Care Council is the source of information for the “Be Car Care Aware” consumer education campaign promoting the benefits of regular vehicle care, maintenance and repair to consumers. For a free copy of the council’s Car Care Guide or for more information, visit www.carcare.org.
