With Snap-on’s new Software Bundle 7.4, MODIS and Vantage PRO users will find vital new tests and procedural support when using the component-test meter mode that will help them diagnose more cars faster than ever.
The new tests and procedural support include:
New testing support for advanced systems on many Asian vehicles including electronic throttle control (fly-by-wire), traction control with yaw rate and G-sensor, EVAP testing and hybrid support.
New testing support for many domestic vehicles including electronic transfer case, electronic locking differential and electronic stability control.
The option to view lab scope and graphing meter in full screen while using component testing. When in this mode, highlight view and select full screen, and the readings or waveforms can be viewed in full screen.
New Volvo tests include charging and fuel injection systems back to 1983, ABS coverage from 1991 and transmission tests from 1992.
Component tests for 28 new models, including Pontiac G6, Chevy Uplander, Hummer H3, Mazda5, Honda Ridgeline, Honda and Toyota Hybrids, and Volvo S40, XC90 and V70R.
“Access to 4,000 brand new component tests and enhancements to another 15,000 are just a few thousand of the benefits that MODIS and Vantage PRO users will experience when upgrading to Software Bundle 7.4,” said Gerry Beronja, director, global marketing Snap-on Diagnostics. “Improvements to the user interface like the ability to toggle between full and split meter screens will also ensure you’re putting your time to use making more money and diagnosing more cars faster than ever using software Bundle 7.4.”
With Software Bundle 7.4, technicians have extensive engine, transmission, ABS, charging plus other system coverage for Asian, Domestic and European vehicles through 2006. Coverage has been added to models as far back as 1983. The information in the software includes component location, operation, best test location, connector pin outs and known good waveforms. The lab scope and graphing meter time bases, or sweeps, and vertical scales are configured automatically for the user. Also included right on the tools are a complete A to Z index of diagnostic terminology and built-in training courses.
