Mitchell 1 was on the cutting edge of technology in 1989 when it launched its OnDemand repair information system for professional service technicians. Since that time, Mitchell 1 has clearly emerged as the industry leader; continuously supplying comprehensive repair information to serve the ever-changing landscape of the automotive aftermarket. Today, Mitchell 1 is proud to celebrate 20 years of product excellence by offering the latest versions of its OnDemand products – OnDemand5 DVD and OnDemand5.com, version 2.3.

“Our OnDemand program has grown and evolved since it was first introduced to meet the requirements and needs of our technician customers,” said Gary Hixson, product manager for Mitchell 1. “With each new version, we’re providing even greater support mechanisms to help our technician customers complete their jobs more effectively and efficiently. We’re thrilled with the level of success and popularity that our OnDemand program has achieved over the last 20 years, and we look forward to the next 20 years of continued growth.”

With the OnDemand5 DVDs, technicians benefit from features such as diagnostics, repair information, technical service bulletins (TSB), recalls, maintenance requirements, parts prices, labor times, vintage information, fluid types and volumes that have been reproduced directly from the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) published works. This information was combined to create wiring diagrams, user tips and shortcuts that are in a consistent and easy-to-use format.

Mitchell 1’s OnDemand5 is the only system in the industry that includes full-color wiring diagrams for every vehicle back to 1985. The wiring diagrams retain their clarity when zooming to allow users to search for information easier by finding and highlighting the text of the repair articles based on specific keywords within the diagram.

OnDemand5.com was launched in 2002 to provide technicians with all of the features and information of OnDemand in a fast, powerful and convenient online program. Today, OnDemand5.com delivers comprehensive data for 1983-current domestic and import vehicle models. It includes the new OnDemand Live feature, where users view and share tips, as well as access clear illustrations and full-color wiring diagrams, complete diagnostics, tech bulletins and recalls, scheduled maintenance with labor times, automatic monthly data updates and OEM parts and pricing.

New in OnDemand5.com, a Google search feature allows users to find what they’re looking for faster and easier than ever before. Unlike other products, OnDemand5.com Google search goes beyond article titles to find answers within entire documents, even TSBs and user tips.
