Microflex Corporation (Reno, NV), a subsidiary of BarrierSafe Solutions International, and leading supplier of latex and synthetic hand protection, has announced a partnership with hot rod designer and television personality Rich Evans, owner of Huntington Beach Bodyworks. The new partnership will promote the use of the Microflex line of gloves as not only necessary for workers’ safety, but with the MidKnight glove in particular, as a high-style accessory in the automotive industry.

Wearing gloves is becoming more prevalent in the industry, with high-profile automotive designers like Rich Evans helping to show the benefits of hand protection. Nitrile gloves offer protection against many chemicals used in automotive painting. According to a report from the Environmental Protection Agency, "nitrile gloves provide a better barrier to paints and organic solvents – the chemicals that are some of the toughest on gloves. Because they protect well and are durable, nitrile gloves offer good value for your safety dollar."

MidKnight nitrile gloves from Microflex offer the needed protection along with the right style for the automotive industry. The black gloves are a perfect fit for custom car designers and collision repair experts, and Rich Evans’ own personal style is reflected by the MidKnight gloves. “It’s great to have a protective glove that is strong and comfortable all in one,” stated Evans. “It makes my job much easier and at the end of the day I don’t have to worry about paint and junk on my hands and fingers.”

Designing, building and painting custom hot rods, Rich Evans has appeared on numerous cable television programs such as MTV’s "Pimp My Ride," the SPEED Channel’s "Chop, Cut and Rebuild," and The Learning Channel’s "Junkyard Wars." He is recognized for his expertise in auto body repair and specializes in customizing vehicles with unique, show-stopping designs.

Evans will partner with Microflex, making public appearances at many automotive industry events for demonstrations and autograph signings. His image will appear in future Microflex marketing collateral and promotional materials. In addition, a new website, www.RichWearsMicroflex.com, will feature a variety of Microflex gloves for the automotive industry, including latex gloves like Diamond Grip and SafeGrip, and nitrile gloves like Supreno and the aforementioned MidKnight. The website will also link to Rich’s site and to Microflex.com. With Evans’ endorsement, LeeAnn Nejedlo, Director of Corporate Accounts for Microflex, is excited about the new partnership. “Rich is an expert in his field, and his dedication to quality mirrors that of Microflex. We look forward to working with Rich to continue promoting the importance of hand protection in the automotive industry.”
