MACS Announces Call for Board Nominations

Each year, the MACS Board of Directors receives a number of nominations for selection to the board ballot. The deadline for nominations is Sept. 30, 2009.

Mobile Air Conditioning Society (MACS) Worldwide members are invited to nominate candidates for election to the MACS Board of Directors in the service-installer, distributor and manufacturer sections.

Established policy and criteria for this selection process are as follows:

The policy set by the Board of Directors directs the Nominating Committee to add or delete from the list of potential candidates for election to present a slate of two candidates for each available seat on the board.

Criteria for the selection of candidates by the Nominating Committee are as follows:

• Has been a MACS member in good standing for a minimum of four years.

• Has participated in two recent conventions/trade shows.

• If not a shop (company) owner, must have some management experience.

• Must be willing to spend 100 hours or more per year on MACS board business (in addition to attendance at three board meetings), attend the annual convention, and contribute any other time that is necessary.

Other considerations of the Nominating Committee:
• Prior volunteer board experience;
• Independent, impartial, non-self-serving attitude regarding MACS business;
• Needs of the MACS Board for balanced representation (geographic, etc.); and
• Consideration of candidate’s specific skills.
