Since everything’s bigger in Texas, Mac Tools chose the Gaylord Texan resort in Dallas to celebrate the company’s 75th anniversary at its 2013 Mac Tools Tool Fair, Feb. 28 through March 2.
Brett Shaw, president of Mac Tools, proudly stated that the company is going to have its third record year in a row.
Shaw credits the company’s success with listening to its distributors and making necessary changes, looking at every possible way to help them save money.
At the Tool Fair, distributors were given iPads for placing their orders with vendors. QR codes on vendors’ nametags could be scanned to take the distributor directly to the vendor’s product ordering pages.
More than 500 new products were displayed on the Tool Fair floor, including a new cordless impact wrench designed by Dewalt specifically for the vehicle service market. While Dewalt is famous for its reach in the industrial market, this wrench offers more torque and power rather than focus on the long battery life that is usually needed at a construction site. The Mac partnership with Dewalt also makes it possible for the company to offer affordable combo kits.
The company also announced a new iPad app and a re-designed website that allow customers to view the most recent flyers and place orders online that their distributor will deliver to them at the shop.
