KYB Americas Corp. has launched a new Crash Avoidance Systems Awareness and Training campaign. The new campaign was unveiled earlier this month during the 2015 Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week in Las Vegas. This new campaign is aimed at helping service providers communicate the importance of ride control maintenance to help keep a vehicle’s computerized crash avoidance system working within its designed capabilities. The campaign was announced to KYB’s distribution partner customers as well as members of the media.
KYB offers two new service provider training opportunities to support this campaign: KYB’s distribution customers can arrange a 30-minute, in-shop live training clinic or provide a group code to attend an interactive online self-paced study clinic that includes downloadable handouts. Interested car care professionals are able to access the training through a direct link on kyb.com.
“Statistics show that vehicles 4-to-8-years old are the most likely to be involved in an accident and vehicle accident fatalities are on the rise. We believe one of the causes for this is under-maintained ride control,” said “Mac” McGovern, KYB director of marketing and training. “Alerting the motorist and educating the shop on the need to maintain ride control performance is becoming critical as more and more vehicles equipped with crash avoidance systems become older. KYB is committed to providing this awareness and the needed communication materials to help the motorist stay in control.”
