JASPER Names Lineup of Preferred Partners

The awards were presented during the Jasper Engines & Transmissions 22nd Annual Preferred Partners Banquet on Sept. 10.

Jasper Engines & Transmissions of Jasper, IN, has named its Preferred Partners of 2008. The recipients of the award are Enginetech Inc., Raytech-Allomatic Products, Elgin Industries, Grant Iron and Motors, Melling Automotive Products, MAHLE Clevite and Sonnax Industries.

Each of these companies has received this award in the past, and two of these companies have received this award for at least six years or more. They are Grant Iron and Motors (six) and Elgin Industries (eight).

The Jasper Engines & Transmissions Preferred Partner Award is presented annually to recognize the company’s Partners in Success. Recipients are nominated by an individual within the Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing or Payables divisions of the JASPER organization and are judged on Quality, Service, Fill-Rate, Response Time to a Problem, and Billing/Credit Procedures, among other criteria. Approval from all of the above-mentioned divisions is required for selection as a Preferred Partner.

Gary Bair, director of purchasing for Jasper Engines & Transmissions, stated that the expectations of the suppliers are nothing less than the expectations of the customers. “Our expectations, and our suppliers’ expectations, are simple: a quality product, on time delivery, a fair price, correct delivery, tech support, product development and simple, fair and honest expectations.”

“The past year has been trying, and the future is cloudy at best,” added Bair.  “Despite all the negative news we hear, we must, as partners, continue to move forward.”
