Ingersoll Rand Earns Top 5 Tools Award from TechShop Magazine

Ingersoll Rand has received a Top 5 Tools award from TechShop magazine. This is the only tool and equipment award chosen by technicians and shop owners, and Ingersoll Rand has been a recipient every year since its inception in 2005.

Ingersoll Rand, a global leader in vehicle service tools and equipment, has received a Top 5 Tools award from TechShop magazine. This is the only tool and equipment award chosen by technicians and shop owners, and Ingersoll Rand has been a recipient every year since its inception in 2005.

“Ingersoll Rand designs tools with the technician in mind, so it’s always nice to receive an award based on customer satisfaction,” said Nate Schmid, marketing manager for vehicle services with Ingersoll Rand. “This award is a testament to the exceptional brand strength, technological leadership and product innovation that we provide to our customers year after year. We’re proud that professional technicians have relied on Ingersoll Rand for quality and performance on the toughest jobs for over 100 years.”

The editors of TechShop monitored the Top 5 Tools section of the magazine to determine which manufacturers and tools were mentioned most frequently by their readers between January and December of 2011. The Ingersoll Rand 2135TiMAX 1/2” air impact wrench and 2015MAX Hammerhead low-profile 3/8" air impact wrench generated the most buzz among technicians and shop owners.

According to Ingersoll Rand, the 2135TiMAX weighs in at only 3.95 pounds and is capable of producing 780 ft-lb of torque, giving it the best power-to-weight ratio in its class. The feather-touch trigger and patented four-position power regulator dial gives users maximum control. The impact wrench also features a one-hand forward/reverse switch for easy operation.

The 2015MAX Hammerhead combines the power of an impact with the reach of a ratchet. The tool is designed with a head height under 2", conveniently located forward/reverse collar and knuckle-saving reactionless torque so technicians can safely use it in tight spaces, said the company. The enhanced control features, combined with 180 ft-lb of max torque, allow technicians to use it for virtually any garage application.
