Ingersoll-Rand Productivity Solutions recently donated air tools and accessories to the Tools for Techs Program, an effort geared toward helping mechanics and body shop workers in areas recently devastated by Hurricanes Katrina, Wilma and Rita get back to work as quickly as possible.

“I would like to personally thank every member of the Ingersoll-Rand family for the generous donation,” said Todd Hoffman, executive director for Scene of the Accident Inc., which is coordinating the drive. “Air tools were the most needed items by technicians and the Ingersoll-Rand donation will fill an immediate need.”

A majority of the tools donated by Ingersoll-Rand have been sent to shops in Key West, FL, according to Hoffman. Some shops there were able to salvage tools after Hurricane Wilma, but many lost their air tools.

“We are extremely happy to be able to make this donation to the Tools for Techs Program,” said Leif Selstad, director of worldwide marketing for Ingersoll-Rand Vehicle Service. “The mechanics and body shop professionals are important to Ingersoll-Rand, and this donation is our way of saying ‘thank you.’”
