GearWrench recently introduced two new Multi-Function Ratchets.

Available in 5.75” and 12” sizes, the Double-Ended Multi-Function Ratchets have slim line heads for access in hard-to-reach spaces.

The heads measure less than 3/4” wide, compared to about an inch for standard 1/4” drive ratchets. With a head that is less than 3/4” wide, 72 teeth and a 5° ratchet arc, users are able to easily turn fasteners in tight areas. An enclosed head design helps make the ratchets extremely resistant to dirt infiltration and a flush-mounted forward/reverse lever provides additional access capability.

The following GearWrench Multi-Function Ratchets are now available:

SKU 81018: 1/4″ Drive Compact Multi-Function Ratchet (overall length 5.75″)
• SKU 81019: 1/4″ Drive Long Multi-Function Ratchet (overall length 12″)

The Compact Multi-Function Ratchet is designed to fit comfortably in technicians’ hands yet still deliver ample torque, while the Long Multi-Function Ratchet enables technicians to access hard-to-reach screws and bolts.

Each end of both of the Multi-Function Ratchets features a locking flex head for greater control, allowing the user to stay on the fastener. There’s no need to hold the back of the ratchet head in place, allowing for access to even the tightest spaces. The 1/4″ Drive Ratchet Head incorporates a quick release design to easily allow users to change sockets up to 13mm/1/2″. The 1/4″ Hex Screwdriver Bit Head fits 1/4″ screwdriver bits, and is recommended for use with bits up to PH #4, Torx T-40, Hex 6mm/1/4″, and Slotted 5/16″.

“The compact ratchet is a go-to tool for working under the dash or removing smaller diameter nuts from housings in tough to reach locations,” said Jim Stewart, product manager for GearWrench. “The long ratchet allows technicians to reach past obstructions for tasks such as removing mud flaps without removing wheels.”

Additionally, a 43-piece 1/4″ Drive Multi-Function Ratchet Set (SKU 81020) is available. This 43-piece set includes both the 1/4″ Drive Compact Multi-Function Ratchet and the 1/4″ Long Multi-Function Ratchet, a 4″ 1/4″ Drive Extension, 10-piece 1/4″ Drive Socket Set, 30-piece Screwdriver Bit Box Set and a vacuum-formed storage tray that will fit in a 2″ tool drawer for storage.

The Multi-Function Ratchet gear design exceeds ASME torque performance requirements. Both ratchets are covered under the GearWrench Lifetime Warranty. A 1/4″ Drive Slim Head Ratchet Repair Kit (SKU 81022) is also available.
