In an effort to address the confusion caused by the influx of so many different colored O-rings, Four Seasons Inc. announces it has elected to go with green HNBR material across the board. Green was first introduced by Ford and later adopted by Chrysler as a means to color code or identify HNBR materials and its use with R134a refrigerant.
”Today, green HNBR is the most common material used for O-rings and has been adopted as the industry standard by the aftermarket,” said Benny Araujo, marketing manager for Four Seasons. “The single color change will eliminate unnecessary inventory levels and higher costs created by stocking duplicate O- ring sizes commonly found in different colors. Why carry the same O-ring in black, yellow and blue? Go green with Four Seasons and never look back!”
Green O-rings are compatible with both R12 and R134a applications and are the current industry accepted standard.
