Final ASE Written Tests Scheduled for November

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) will offer the last of its written certification tests in November. The full complement of 40-plus certification tests for repair professionals and parts specialists will be offered over the course of three evenings on November 10, 15 and 17.

The full complement of 40-plus certification tests for repair professionals and parts specialists will be offered over the course of three evenings on November 10, 15 and 17. The final written tests will be given at hundreds of locations throughout the United States. The registration deadline is September 30, 2011.

ASE offers certification tests in the following specialties:  Automobile, Automobile Service Consultant, Medium/Heavy Truck, Truck Equipment, School Bus, Transit Bus, Collision Repair and Refinish, Alternate Fuels/CNG, Parts Specialist, and Advanced Series.

Mail-in registrations are currently open. Online and telephone registrations open September 1. Visit www.ase.com or call (866) 427-3273 (7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Central Time, Mon. – Fri, or Saturdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT) to register on or after Sept. 1.

The November testing sessions marks the last time ASE will offer its tests in written format. Moving ahead, all ASE tests will be offered in computer-based format in four two-month sessions annually at secure testing centers. Winter 2012 CBT registration opens January 10, 2012; testing will run from January 17 through February 29, 2012. Visit www.ase.com/cbt for more information about ASE’s CBT testing program.

CBT offers test takers flexibility in scheduling, reserved appointments, year-round testing, and instant test results for the same cost as traditional pencil-and-paper testing.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence was established in 1972 as a non-profit organization to help improve the quality of automotive service and repair through the voluntary testing and certification of automotive technicians and parts specialists.
