Federated ‘Get Dirty with Kenny’ Winners Enjoy Memorable Day of Racing

Five Federated Auto Parts Car Care Center members spent the day dirt-track racing with NASCAR driver and dirt-track legend Ken Schrader at Schrader's I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri, on September 14.

“What a great day of racing with a great group of Federated guys,” said Schrader. “Everyone had a fantastic time. After learning how a dirt track is prepared and maintained, the ‘rookies’ hit the track and their times improved dramatically throughout the day. They did so well that after enjoying a team-style cookout, we were back on the track for some bonus night racing under the lights.”

The lucky “rookie” drivers were chosen as winners in the Federated “Get Dirty with Kenny” promotion. In addition, the winners were accompanied on the trip by their respective Federated member representative. The five Federated Car Care Center winners were:

•    Brad Hawkins of Isaacs Garage, Wilmington, Del.
•    Dale Ballinger of Dale’s Service & Repair, Neoga, Ill.
•    Steve Cosand of Cosand Automotive, Burr Oak, Kan.
•    Joe Charpentier of D&J’s Economy Garage, Portland, Ore.
•    Brad Kennedy of Brad’s Auto Repair, Palmyra, Va.

“The second ‘Get Dirty with Kenny’ promotion was a huge success. This contest generated a lot of enthusiasm among our members and everyone who raced left with memories of a lifetime,” said J.R. Bishop, director of member services and event marketing for Federated Auto Parts. “As usual, Kenny was the perfect host.  We can’t thank him enough for letting us have use of his track.”

To be eligible to win a chance to “Get Dirty with Kenny,” a shop must have been fully enrolled as a Federated Car Care Center member in good standing as of July 15, 2009. The Federated Car Care Center program is one of the fastest growing, complete support programs for some of the nation’s finest automotive service providers.
