Wilhelm Automotive, a family owned and operated auto repair company, has joined forces with The Hybrid Shop (THS) to bring expert care for hybrid-electric vehicles, including green and cost-saving diagnostic, repair and preventative maintenance services, to hybrid vehicle owners.  All seven of Wilhelm Automotive’s locations will now have certified hybrid repair technicians to service all makes and models of hybrid vehicles.

Wilhelm Automotive has been in business for 85 years, making it the oldest family owned and operated repair shop in the state. The company says the move to become hybrid vehicle repair experts further demonstrates its commitment to meeting all of its customers’ auto repair needs.

“We are excited to join THS as a dealer. We see the future of the hybrid and EV markets and we were looking for a way meet the needs of an underserved market in the Phoenix area. Our partnership with THS gives us that opportunity by providing expert training, support and products that will set us apart,” said Wilhelm Automotive President Chris Garman.

A key element of THS technology is the hybrid vehicle battery pack conditioning.  A less than optimally energized hybrid battery can create a number of performance issues, according to THS, usually resulting in poor fuel economy, reduced torque and battery replacement costs in the thousands of dollars. With THS’ innovative Battery Pack Conditioning service, the company says hybrid owners can restore — instead of replace — the vehicle battery pack. This service has the potential to restore up to 95 percent of the battery pack’s original power and energy.

Wilhelm staff and technicians have participated in training for the new hybrid technology including a comprehensive four-day on-site Hybrid Electric Vehicle diagnostics training course.

“THS is excited to welcome Wilhelm Automotive as our newest dealer partner,” said Matt Curry, CEO of The Hybrid Shop. “We are ecstatic to add their expertise, strong reputation for quality service, and ties to their community and their commitment to customer service. Adding a company that has served the Phoenix area since 1928 is an ideal addition to our expanding global network serving the hybrid vehicle market. We look forward to continuing to support them in their success!”
