Clevite Engine Parts Celebrates Earth Day by Unveiling New Engine Parts Catalog

Clevite Engine Parts is taking on a more eco-friendly approach with the release of its new 2006 Engine Parts Master Catalog. This new catalog uses much less paper than previous publications due to a streamlining of the catalog process.

The key difference in the 2006 Clevite Engine Parts Master Catalog is the elimination of the listings for Clevite 77 engine bearings, Victor Reinz gaskets and Perfect Circle piston rings. All of these products, previously contained within the Clevite Engine Parts Master Catalog, are available in the existing product catalog for each brand, or in the brand new, feature-packed ePartsFinder CD.

“The primary reason for the change was to eliminate duplication and reduce the environmental impact of producing thousands of huge catalogs,” said Ted Hughes, light vehicle brand manager for Clevite Engine Parts. “The core lines for Clevite Engine Parts — bearings, gaskets and rings — already have their own dedicated publications.”

Prior to making adjustments for the 2006 Engine Parts Master Catalog, Clevite consulted with several customers, and the following factors were considered:
•Clevite was double cataloging for the core lines;
•No aftermarket engine parts company offers an all products book anymore;
•The Clevite Light Vehicle Master Book had reached two volumes and was soon to become three volumes of nearly 1,000 pages;
•Core product specifications were never included in the master catalog, but are essential — especially for bearings and rings; and
•The removal of the core line information allows for the inclusion of parts specifications within the master catalog for the engine parts in the catalog.

Clevite’s decision not to print the listings in the new Engine Parts Master Catalog saved 50 tons of print paper, the fuel needed for shipping and distribution and the ultimate landfill costs to the environment.

Clevite customers can also search for all Clevite Engine Parts with the new ePartsFinder computer program or by visiting Clevite’s website, www.engineparts.com.

Clevite Engine Parts is a division of Dana Corporation and provides a wide scope of under-the-hood products for the global replacement parts market, including Clevite engine parts, Clevite 77 engine bearings, Victor Reinz gaskets and Perfect Circle piston rings. In addition, Clevite, Clevite 77, Victor Reinz and Perfect Circle are exclusive NASCAR Performance Products. Clevite’s Internet address is www.engineparts.com.
