Federated enjoyed another successful day at the races at the annual Federated 300 held June 6 in Nashville, TN. Two of Federated’s award-winning supplier partners helped to get the 14th annual Federated Auto Parts 300 off to a rousing start.

John Lutes of East Penn served as Grand Marshal of the Federated 300 and gave the “start your engines” command to the field.  Bill Collins of Standard Motor Products (SMP) waved the green flag to start the race.  During Federated’s annual membership meeting awards dinner held on April 30 in Tampa, FL, John Lutes, sales manager, program groups, was inducted into Federated’s Vendor Hall of Fame and Bill Collins, sales and marketing coordinator, accepted the 2008 Federated Outstanding Vendor of the Year for Standard Motor Products.

“The Federated 300 is a special event for more than 1,200 Federated customers each year and we welcome the opportunity to honor our award-winning suppliers through their participation in the activities surrounding the race,” said Rusty Bishop, CEO of Federated Auto Parts.

A near-capacity crowd saw Kyle Busch cross the finish line first to capture the checkered flag at the Nashville SuperSpeedway.  The crowd also enjoyed a post-race country music concert while a nationwide audience tuned in the broadcast of the Federated 300 on ESPN2.
