AutoPartsWarehouse.com presented a check for $8,000 to Operation Homefront during Thanksgiving week. According to the online auto parts retailer, this was the first in a series of promotions and programs the company is leading to support service members and their families. The donation represented proceeds from the company’s Veterans Day Heroes Salute, and will go directly to Operation Homefront’s Emergency Assistance Program, which provides essential financial assistance for the unique needs of todays’ military families.

Operation Homefront’s Emergency Assistance Program aids military families during difficult financial times by providing food assistance, auto and home repair, vision care, travel and transportation, moving assistance, essential home items, and emergency financial assistance. Since its inception, Operation Homefront has met the needs of more than 750,000 military families.

AutoPartsWarehouse.com CEO Shane Evangelist presented the donation to Operation Homefront’s Director of Development, Rachel Weil, and Operation Homefront’s Executive Director of the California Field Office and former service member, Jack Chirrick, at its Carson, Calif., headquarters.

"We are proud to present this check to Operation Homefront to aid service members and their families," said Evangelist. "Our Veterans Day Heroes Salute sought to both raise awareness about the unique needs of service members and to help support military families. We look forward to offering more ways for AutoPartsWarehouse.com customers and employees to help support the brave service men and women of our country, and their families, and we thank the thousands of customers who purchased auto parts during our Veterans Day promotion."

Evangelist also said that in 2014, the company will be announcing a "Heroes Automobile Gallery: A Little Automotive Helping Hand for Those Who Have Served." The Heroes Automotive Gallery will offer auto parts discounts for service members, and will highlight the stories of our nation’s heroes.

"We are very grateful to AutoPartsWarehouse.com for this donation, and for helping to raise awareness of the needs of our military families. There could not be a better time of year for us to put these funds to work, providing much needed assistance to military families," said Chirrick.
