Automechanika Announces International Trade Fair for Frankfurt, September 14-19, 2010

Automechanika teams with Messe Frankfurt to demonstrate strength through stability for the Automotive Industry Trade Fair set in southwest Germany.

Automechanika Frankfurt opens its doors for the 21st time from September 14-19, 2010 at Messe Frankfurt exhibition halls in the southwest German metropolis to exhibitors and trade visitors from the automotive aftermarket.

Judging from the number of registrations received to date, the leading international trade fair for the automobile industry will be characterized by stability on the exhibitor side, compared with the record event in 2008.

Altogether, some 4,400 exhibitors and over 160,000 trade visitors are expected. Thus, the most important platform for the sector is set to give yet another impressive demonstration of its strength.

Besides its function as a primary source of information and the industry’s showcase, Automechanika stands in particular for the broad spectrum of innovations and sustainable technologies to be seen. Thus, the renowned ‘Automechanika Innovation Award’ will once again be given this year.

The ‘Green Directory’ for visitors, which was launched in 2008, will also be part of the comprehensive complementary programme again. Other highlights include the first Automechanika Rally, the Automechanika Study and the restructured Automechanika Aftermarket Forum with a special day focusing on ‘e- mobility’.

“You could say that Automechanika Frankfurt has become a fixed star and the whole sector revolves around the dates of the fair”, says Detlef Braun, Member of the Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt GmbH. “We have frequently noticed that companies even orient the life cycles of their products towards the fair so they can present their latest innovations there every two years.”

This assessment is confirmed by WashTec, one of the biggest Automechanika exhibitors. “It is a fact that, for WashTec, the biennial Automechanika is the foremost event for the presentation of new products. Therefore, it is no exaggeration to say that the fair has a certain influence on the development of our products. We are looking forward to this year’s show and will present existing and potential customers a number of interesting new products, the ‘secret’ of which will not be revealed until the fair”, explains Thorsten Krüger, CEO, WashTec.

The high degree of stability despite the difficult economic climate is also the result of the sector’s unequivocal commitment to the fair. The great trust placed by the industry in the fair is reflected by the fact that numerous companies have been exhibiting at Automechanika Frankfurt since the première in 1971.

For U.S. Chemical & Plastics, an exhibitor of long standing and the leading US manufacturer in the body repair and refinishing segment, Automechanika Frankfurt is, “an absolute must”. As Tom Perry, President of U.S. Chemical & Plastics, puts it: “We’ve participated in Automechanika for 20 years; the show is pinnacle to achieving our strategic international goals and is the only foreign show we regularly attend. The results have been exceptional.”
