ASE Posts YouTube Videos Explaining New Test Format

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) recently announced the posting of two videos on the popular YouTube website describing what to expect at the test center when taking one of ASE's new Computer-Based Tests (CBT). The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) recently announced the posting of two videos on the popular YouTube website describing what to expect at the test center when taking one of ASE’s new Computer-Based Tests (CBT). The videos, and three others from ASE, are available on ASE’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/asetests.

The first video titled “ASE Testing Goes Digital” offers a humorous look at customer questions, followed by general information on the changeover to the new computer-based testing. The second video, “CBT Walk Thru,” is a three-minute, professionally produced video shot at an actual CBT Test Center showing in more detail what technicians can expect upon arriving at the test center, from signing in and presenting an I.D., to taking an ASE test in computed-based format, and leaving the center with test results in hand.

Other videos on ASE’s YouTube channel include how technicians, employers, and car owners benefit from the certification of service professionals.

Those seeking additional information about ASE’s CBT program can visit www.ase.com/cbt for more on what to expect; dates, times, and fees; how to register, frequently asked questions; and a free CBT Test Drive – an online demonstration providing the “look and feel” of an ASE computer-based test.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence was established in 1972 as a non-profit organization to help improve the quality of automotive service and repair through the voluntary testing and certification of automotive technicians and parts specialists. Today, there are over 350,000 ASE-certified professionals at work in dealerships, independent shops, collision repair shops, auto parts stores, fleets, schools and colleges throughout the country.
