The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) opens registration for the Summer ASE computer-based tests (CBT) on July 10th. “CBT provides flexibility in scheduling that better fits an automotive professional’s busy lifestyle, and offers instant test scores,” said Ron Weiner, ASE president. “It’s easy and convenient!” The ASE CBT tests are delivered at secure, proctored computer-based testing centers throughout the U.S. to ensure the security and reliability of the ASE tests. They are not available over the Internet.

Certification (and recertification) tests available include the Automobile Series, Medium/Heavy Truck Series, Collision Repair/Refinish Series, Service Consultant and Automobile Parts Specialist (P2) tests. The two Advanced Level tests (L1 and L2) are also available.

Registration is open between July 10 and August 15, 2006. Once open, you can register for the ASE CBT tests by calling (800) 525-6929 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Central Time M – F, or between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday. Testing will be conducted between July 17 and August 22, 2006.

Candidates can visit the ASE website at www.ase.com/cbt for more information and a tutorial to familiarize themselves with navigating the computer-based testing platform. Frequently asked questions and a complete listing of the CBT test centers can also be found there.

And in case the ASE CBT format doesn’t meet your needs, online registration for the November ASE paper and pencil testing is now open, too. The deadline to register is September 30, 2006. Candidates can register for the Fall 2006 paper and pencil testing online at www.ase.com starting June 1st, 2006.
