AMI Announces 2009 Zurich ‘High Octane’ Scholarship Recipient

The recipient receives $1,000 to be applied toward expenses to attend AMI seminars offered during the Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) in Las Vegas, Nov. 4-7.

The Automotive Management Institute (AMI), in conjunction with Zurich, formerly Universal Underwriters Group, recently announced Bill Langton, owner, Primary Auto Care, Inc., State College, PA, as the recipient of the Zurich “High Octane” Scholarship. The scholarship recognizes a management-oriented member of the Automotive Service Association (ASA) Mechanical Division.

Langton has worked in the automotive service industry for 22 years and has been a shop owner for the last 15. He is currently working on completing the necessary requirements to earn the Institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation. Langton is a member of the Automotive Service Association (ASA) and Alliance of Automotive Service Providers (AASP). He is also active in his local church.

“I am honored to receive this award and grateful for this education and training opportunity. I am committed to seeking out the knowledge I need to propel my business into the future,” said Langton.

AMI was established to answer the demand for continuing education tailored specifically for the business needs of the automotive service industry. The Institute offers the Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation, the first business management accreditation exclusively for the automotive service professional.

To date, AMI programs have attracted more than 184,000 enrollments throughout North America. AMI is a not-for-profit educational foundation to which tax-deductible contributions can be made.
