ALLDATA has joined with the Automotive Maintenance and Repair Association (AMRA) in its consumer outreach effort to provide uniform standards for automotive repair. Through the Motorist Assurance Program (MAP), the AMRA’s mission is to promote customer satisfaction and high standards of service.

ALLDATA provides manufacturers’ service and repair information, shop management software and customer relations tools for the automotive repair and collision industries. Comprehensive MAP documentation, including forms, is available to shop owners and technicians within ALLDATA’s Service and Repair product. ALLDATA supports the MAP goal of fostering uniform professional conduct and accountability within the automotive service industry, along with increased consumer awareness.

Auto repair shops that qualify for MAP accreditation pledge to provide recommendations and estimates in writing, employ trained personnel, offer warranties and provide dispute resolution services. MAP shops must meet standards for training, vehicle inspections, classification of parts and more.

“MAP is a membership organization composed of automotive service providers who want more sales without compromising good ethics,” said MAP’s President Larry Hecker. “MAP complements and enhances the good business reputation that automotive professionals have worked so hard to earn.”
