Advance Auto Parts Reports Positive First-Year Growth For MOTOSHOP Technology

MOTOSHOP Technology Tools, a product portfolio from Advance Auto Parts, recently introduced MotoSHOP Shop Management System, along with enhancements to its existing portfolio of Web-based programs for commercial shop owners and technicians including MotoLOGIC Repair & Diagnostics, MotoSKILL Shop Tech Training, and MotoREV Shop Marketing. The company has reported significant first-year growth for the new tools.

“We’ve received tremendous feedback from commercial customers using MOTOSHOP’s services in our first year, and we look forward to continuing to partner with shops to help grow their business with new features and enhancements to each of our product offerings,” said Walter Scott, vice president of eCommerce and eServices for Advance Auto Parts.

MotoSHOP Shop Management System features a customer-facing interface designed to help improve shop operations and enhance the overall customer experience. The Web-based platform is touchscreen capable and was designed to streamline online parts ordering, inventory management, customer service history tracking, quotes and invoice generation.

MotoLOGIC now offers unedited OE content for more than 94 percent of cars and light-duty trucks on the road today and includes enhanced color wiring diagrams and the preservation of OEM-specific features and functionality, such as electrical flow diagrams. Current coverage includes more than 21 million articles with additional manufacturer data for BMW and Mitsubishi in development for 2015.

MotoSKILL Shop Tech Training added 15 new courses in 2014, as well as seven courses in Spanish, and also created a new testing module. MotoSKILL offers training programs with more than 190 hours of online video courses – from automotive basics to advanced diagnostic training – and ASE test prep materials. According to Advance, the portfolio will be enhanced soon, as MotoSKILL partners with the CARQUEST Technical Institute (CTI) to bring its leading classroom training to shops, in addition to online training.

MotoREV continues to grow its personalized and automated marketing program by adding customer-targeted direct mail postcards this year. MotoREV’s expanded services were created to help increase customer visit frequency and purchases per visit for commercial garages, while improving brand awareness and loyalty.
