ACDelco Program Encourages Techs To Expand Skills

ACDelco-Logo-300x154ACDelco is encouraging technicians to expand their skills with its newest program – the ACDelco Technician Training Excellence Recognition Program. The program launches this summer and will recognize technicians who complete additional training.

The program features more than 500 hours of ASE-aligned training that allows technicians to combine face-to-face learning with web-based courses. Upon completion of each training path, techs will receive personalized plaques with ACDelco Specialist medallions. Additionally, shop owners will receive similar plaques recognizing their store’s commitment to training, the company said.

“We want to recognize technicians and shops that invest their time in training because it’s hard to do yet is so crucial in the automotive aftermarket,” said Dale Tripp, manager of ACDelco aftermarket training.

ACDelco has been actively training aftermarket technicians for nearly 60 years. The company currently has 34 full-time trainers who facilitate classroom training during the day, conduct evening seminars and deliver customized training at the service center. There are six General Motors training centers with ACDelco-dedicated classrooms as well as 27 dedicated ACDelco training locations that share with GM Service Training Center. The company also has 120 satellite training locations aligned with community colleges.
