AASA Know Your Parts Launches New Tech Hotline For Smart Phones At AAPEX

aasaThe Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) Know Your Parts campaign is launching a new resource for service professionals during AAPEX: the Know Your Parts “Tech Hotline Directory” for smart phones.

“This new ‘web app’ will give technicians a single source to access our supplier’s technical support lines with the touch of a finger,” said Bill Hanvey, AASA senior vice president. “This is the next step in the Know Your Parts campaign to assist technicians in ensuring that repair jobs are diagnosed correctly, the right parts are installed, the job is done completely and motorists are confident in the service provided by the independent aftermarket.”

The AASA Know Your Parts mobile Tech Hotline Directory, http://www.kyptechline.com/, puts full service suppliers’ technical hotlines at technicians’ fingertips. At the mobile-optimized site, technicians can scroll through the directory or search for a specific brand, then simply touch the number to call the hotline.

“The Tech Hotline Directory builds on the success of the Know Your Parts ‘Starting & Charging’ eLearning tool, which guides technicians step-by-step through proper diagnosis and repair of starting and charging repairs,” Hanvey noted. “Launched in March, thousands of service professionals have used the tool, and we fully anticipate comparable use of the Tech Hotline Directory. Through use of these powerful tools, AASA hopes to reduce preventable warranty returns which drain profits from all aftermarket channel partners.”

Live demonstrations of the Tech Hotline Directory and the Starting & Charging eLearning Tool are going on during AAPEX at the AASA Know Your Parts exhibit, #34001. For more details after AAPEX, visit KnowYourParts.com.
