Raybestos Rookie Racing School participants put pedals to floorboards for the first time in 2009 at Motorsports Park in Millville, NJ. Held the first week of June, the event kicked off the second season of what is quickly becoming one of the most popular promotional programs in the aftermarket.
The exclusive one-day racing schools are offered as customer reward, in appreciation of things like product line changeovers, brand loyalty or new major product purchase commitments. Held at some of the most prestigious road courses in the country, every race school attendee receives professional racing instruction, and is buckled into race-prepped Ford Mustang GTs for an unforgettable track day.
“Our customers are thrilled by the on-track experience, and appreciate the opportunity to truly put our Raybestos brand brake and chassis parts to the ultimate test,” says Josh Russell, vice president of marketing, Affinia Global Brake and Chassis Group. “They experience firsthand the reliable performance Raybestos products are engineered to deliver – which is unmatched in the aftermarket.”
Every racecar at the Raybestos Rookie Racing School is modified with performance upgrades, roll cages, race harnesses, Halon fire suppression systems, WIX Filters, Raybestos chassis parts, Raybestos high-performance rotors and Raybestos race-compound brake friction. In fact, the racecars showcase the very same Raybestos race pad compounds found in NASCAR and IndyCar series competition on any given weekend, and Advanced Technology chassis parts similar to those run by the Joe Gibbs Racing cars in every NASCAR Sprint Cup race.
Classroom and on-track instruction at every Raybestos Racing School event is conducted by the professional instructors from the Jeff Gordon/Mario Andretti Racing School – teaching attendees advanced driving skills, racing techniques and extreme braking exercises. Trackside brake, chassis and filtration technical lesson modules explain how Raybestos and WIX products are engineered to withstand the demands of severe service, and demonstrate the parallels between product performance on the race track and on the street.
Upcoming ’09 Raybestos Rookie Racing School events are scheduled for Autobahn Country Club Road Course in Chicago, Virginia International Raceway, Willow Springs Raceway in Los Angeles, Portland International Raceway and Carolina Motorsports Park.
