Federal-Mogul’s “Search for a Champion” racing sponsorship contest is now open, and grassroots racers can enter the contest now through Dec. 31 by posting videos to the www.AlwaysaChampion.com website. The first 250 participants will receive free Champion “swag,” including a T-shirt, hat and a Search for a Champion racing decal.

Sponsored by Federal-Mogul’s iconic Champion brand of spark plugs, wiper blades and chemical additives, the Search for a Champion contest will award 15 $5,000 sponsorships to grassroots racers whose two-minute video entries best describe their commitment to dominating the action in any form of engine-driven motorsport. Federal-Mogul also will award one $50,000 grand-prize sponsorship to the video selected as best by fans and a team of judges that includes NASCAR Sprint Cup driver and Champion spokesperson Kevin Harvick. In total, $125,000 in Champion sponsorships are up for grabs.

“Thousands of grassroots racers are looking for exactly this type of support to help them win championships in 2013, and the Champion brand is ready to make it happen for a second straight year,” Harvick said. “Get out your video camera and show us how a Champion sponsorship will help take your program to the next level. Be creative. Be bold. And show us that you’re truly ‘performance driven,’ like every Champion product.”

Video entries must be submitted to the www.AlwaysaChampion.com website, where fans will vote for their favorites following the Dec. 31 entry deadline. The 15 winners of $5,000 sponsorships will be announced Feb. 21, 2013. Voting for the grand-prize winner will take place Feb. 22 through March 24, with the $50,000 Search for a Champion sponsorship being awarded by Harvick on April 2, 2013.
