Tenneco Expands Lineup Of Walker CalCat CARB-Compliant Replacement Catalytic Converters

Tenneco has continued to expand its lineup of Walker CalCat California Air Resources Board (CARB) compliant replacement catalytic converters, with 81 new direct-fit and universal units introduced this year. Among the CalCat direct-fit converters introduced this year were aftermarket units for 1999-2003 Toyota Sienna vans equipped with 3.0-liter engines.

walker112Tenneco has continued to expand its lineup of Walker CalCat California Air Resources Board (CARB) compliant replacement catalytic converters, with 81 new direct-fit and universal units introduced this year. More than half of the new CalCat converters feature timesaving direct-fit designs, which enable automotive service providers to complete the installations without specialized tools or custom fabrication.

Tenneco plans to introduce nearly 80 additional CalCat converters – over two-thirds of which will be direct-fit units – in 2017.

Walker CalCat replacement converters comply with specific pre-OBDII and OBDII requirements in the states of California and New York. These units feature the right loading of precious metals, the proper catalyst material and design, and a high-technology washcoat, providing enhanced oxygen storage capacity. CalCat direct-fit units feature original equipment-style design and fit, including hangers, flanges and brackets, to help shops save time while performing a complete, high-quality installation. CalCat converters are covered by five-year/50,000-mile (80,000-kilometer) emissions and structural warranties.

Among the CalCat direct-fit converters introduced this year were aftermarket units for 1999-2003 Toyota Sienna vans equipped with 3.0-liter engines. The expansion also included six manifold converters.

“The Walker CalCat product line is becoming an increasingly important competitive tool for distributors and repair providers across North America, as more states are following CARB emissions requirements,” said Mark Boyle, director of marketing, North America Aftermarket, Tenneco. “Our ability to develop and aggressively expand this high-quality repair solution is due in large part to Tenneco’s leadership as a global supplier of OE emissions control products and systems.”

Tenneco also offers extensive ranges of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) compliant replacement catalytic converters for OBDII and pre-OBDII vehicles under the Walker Ultra brand.
