There was more excitement than usual in the Federated 400 hospitality area at Richmond International Raceway this year. Tim Hicks of Don Hicks Auto Service in Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania, was awarded a completely refurbished and upgraded Federated Jeep Wrangler JK.
Before the start of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Federated Auto Parts 400, 12 Federated Car Care customers each received a key that might unlock the 2010 Jeep Wrangler recently restored on an episode of “Two Guys Garage.” One by one, each customer had a turn to see if they had the lucky key. Federated spokesperson Kenny Schrader and “Two Guys” Willie B were on hand to present Hicks, a customer of Federated member Hovis Auto and Truck Supply, with his Jeep.
“There was a lot of suspense as key after key failed to unlock the one-of-a-kind Federated Jeep Wrangler, but the ninth try was the charm when Tim turned the key, the door opened and the crowd roared,” said Phil Moore, senior vice president of Federated Auto Parts. “The Federated 400 is always a lot of fun and a great opportunity to spend time with friends and colleagues. Being able to award the grand prize Jeep to a loyal Federated Car Care customer like Tim Hicks made race day even more special.”
Several Federated vendor partners, including primary sponsor Tenneco and its Rancho and Dynomax brands, participated in the “Two Guys Garage” Jeep restoration project. Other suppliers also provided top-quality parts, including Raybestos, ATK, Grote, East Penn/Federated Batteries, Dana, Perfection, SEM and TrailFX.
